Apollo – RIA’s on the Desktop

Apollo , a new free tool from Adobe , is described as:

"the code name for a cross-operating system runtime being developed by Adobe that allows developers to leverage their existing web development skills (Flash, Flex, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax) to build and deploy rich Internet applications (RIAs) to the desktop."

I'm not sure how unique this is. Isn't this just Zinc from Multidmedia? To run the sample applications, you must have the Apollo runtime beta installed. I'm getting a real big Flash feeling about all of this. More about it in Ars…
