7/06-Current Web Architect IEM Inc., Baton Rouge, LA

  • Used JQuery on a redesign of the CSEPP Portal.
  • Evaluated and wrote the recommended resources and architecture documentation for the Environmental Information and Intelligence (EI2) Portal, a “1-stop” knowledge-based portal designed primarily for military staff (Army) and environmental specialists.
  • Developed the Louisiana Business Impact Survey website using Windows SharePoint Services v3 (WSS) for use by the state of Louisiana to collect information regarding the impact of Hurricane Gustav (http://www.laimpact.net).
  • Developed the FEMA Catastrophic Planning Portal using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, a secure site for use by the FEMA Response Division (https://www.catastrophicplanning.com).
  • Developed the IEM Rapid Response website using Windows SharePoint Services v3 (WSS) (http://www.iemrapidreserve.com/).
  • Developed the IEM Extranet Portal using Windows SharePoint Services v3 (WSS). This included authentication management for employees and non-employees (https://extranet.iem.com). Installed, upgraded, and currently maintain all service packs and fixes.
  • Project managed the CSEPP Portal development with its migration from Microsoft SharePoint 2003 to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Also wrote the proposal and plan for extensive CSEPP Portal user trainings. Installed, upgraded, and currently maintain all service packs and fixes.
  • Continued management and development of the IEM Intranet Portal. Development has included migration from Microsoft SharePoint 2003 to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, custom workflow development, Ontolica search, MySite customizations, and integration with the accounting systems. Installed, upgraded, and currently maintain all service packs and fixes.
  • Introduced, installed, developed, and trained users on Microsoft Project Server. Currently administering for IEM and using for my projects.
  • Wrote numerous proposals for SharePoint projects which included identifying hardware/software needs, licensing, hosting, backup, resource planning, and costing.
  • Continued OMT development management and trained on location at several FEMA Regions across the country.

  • Managed the Portal Solutions Group and all portals at IEM.

2/04-2/06 Usability Engineer/Web Developer IEM Inc., Baton Rouge, LA

  • Programmed the FEMA After Action Report Portal using PHP, MySQL, SQL Server, and Joomla, a PHP-based portal software.
  • Participated on the Red Team for the DHS Eagle bid. Wrote the section for the Performance Based Tracking Tool.
  • Task Lead, designed, and programmed the front end for the FEMA Operations Management Tool (OMT) Project, a task-management tool for FEMA Response for use with hurricanes and other disasters. This was a million dollar project developed using Java, JSP, Oracle Application Server, an Oracle database, and AJAX. Other duties included writing required documentation, extensive interaction with senior FEMA officials and IT, adherence to the FEMA process, assisted in presentation of the demo application at the 2005 Pre-Hurricane Conference, and presented demo at Joint Field Offices and at FEMA Headquarters.
  • Designed and programmed the front end for "WebPuff," a rich internet application converted from a desktop application, using Flash and JSP. Also programmed first version of JavaScript/HTML based WebPuff.
  • Assisted in PHP development for WebPuff.com.
