This July 26, 2007 Microsoft press release says that SharePoint 2007 has exceeded $800 million dollars in sales. I'm not really surprised considering how cheap it is compared to other enterprise portals. Given its integration with Office, which most companies use already, it's a no-brainer. SharePoint 2003 had too many issues which have been corrected and improved upon with SharePoint 2007. There still needs to be better documentation on SP07 which I'm sure is coming. It's just too bad we have to wait for documentation after the release of the product. What other company does that?
